Lead Teacher (Avon and Danville)

Location: Positions available at both Avon & Danville

Work Schedules: Full Time, 40 hours a week/5 days a week on-site

As a Lead Teacher, you will plan and implement developmentally appropriate lessons and activities that provide a foundation for spiritual, social, emotional, and academically successful students. Lead Teachers are an essential part of our team, responsible for the day-to-day health and safety, education, and structure in their classroom. They ensure that their classroom meets compliance with local, state, and federal Early Ed guidelines. With guidance from their grade-level team and team leader. They are responsible for overseeing Assistant Teachers, Resource Teachers, and Substitute Teachers who may be working in their classroom.

Minimum Qualifications: 

✅ Must be at least 18 years of age (21 years of age for any room under 24 months)A high school diploma or equivalent

✅ Have a Child Development Associate (CDA) or an Associates or bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or Elementary EducationIn addition, you must be able to meet the requirements of the Indiana State licensing agency.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

⭐ Perform with the highest level of personal and professional integrity

⭐ Be here, be on time, and be enthusiastic

⭐ Create an environment conducive to learning and exploration

⭐ Build relationships with families through communication and asking for input and involvement. Offer parents opportunities to be involved in their child’s learning experience

⭐ Be prepared to answer questions concerning classroom purpose, curriculum themes, age-appropriate developmental milestones, and classroom schedules

⭐ Maintain a safe, healthy, and clean environment according to instructions and regulation requirements

⭐ Use weekly planning times wisely to prepare lesson plans, classroom portfolios, child portfolios, etc.

⭐ Adhere to Imagination Stations curriculum guidelines, incorporating Conscious Discipline into the classroomTrain and supervise assistant teachers and/or aides and new teachers

⭐ Know and follow all of Imagination Station’s policies and proceduresUse a soft discipline approach of redirection and ongoing emotional support to help equip future generations to become more independent and self-regulated

⭐ Maintain communication with parents about their children through our Procare Engage App, parent communication white boards located outside your classroom door, monthly newsletters, and verbal communication through pick-up/drop-off and phone calls home using your work phone (check-in calls, not disciplinary calls)

Assistant Teacher (Avon and Danville)

Location: Positions available at both Avon & Danville

Work Schedules: Full Time, 35 - 40 hours a week/5 days a week on-site

Reports to: Lead Teacher

An Assistant Teacher’s primary role is to assist the Lead Teacher in implementing developmentally appropriate lessons and activities that provide a foundation for spiritual, social, emotional, and academically successful students. You will be responsible for the day-to-day health and safety, education, and structure in their classroom when the Lead Teacher is out of the room. You will not be responsible for writing lesson plans, doing portfolios, or child assessments.

Minimum Qualifications:

✅ Must be at least 18 years of age (21 years of age for any room under 24 months)

✅ A high school diploma or equivalent

✅ Have a Child Development Associate (CDA) or an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education, and be professionally prepared as an assistant teacher of young children. 

✅ In addition,you must be able to meet the requirements of the Indiana State licensing agency.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

⭐ Perform with the highest level of personal and professional integrity

⭐ Be here, be on time, and be enthusiastic

⭐ Assist Lead Teacher in maintaining a safe, healthy, and clean learning environment.

⭐ Supervise children during work, play, and rest periods.

⭐ Assist Lead Teacher in maintaining communication with parents about their children through electronic daily sheets, parent communication boards, monthly newsletters, and verbal communication

⭐ Build relationships with families through communication and asking for families input and involvement Maintain communication with parents about their children through our Procare Engage App, parent communication white boards located outside your classroom door, and verbal communication through pick-up/drop-off and phone calls home using your work phone (check-in calls, not disciplinary calls)

⭐ Assist Lead Teacher during weekly planning times

⭐ Be able to substitute for the Lead Teacher in case of their absenceKnow and follow all of Imagination Station’s policies
